This week I was drafting my regular personally speaking column for the Sentinel on rough sleeping when the news broke that a homeless man had died sleeping rough. I was writing an article about my frustration that national and local government are failing in their duty to protect the most vulnerable people in our communities.

And that despite the excellent efforts of our police, local charities and church groups not enough is being done to help prevent these tragic losses of life.

It is a national scandal that this is happening in one of the richest countries in the world.

There is a article on this which can be found through clicking this link: https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/news/stoke-on-trent-news/homeless-man-dies-behind-city-2458904?fbclid=IwAR3TvCBXSlE_gcHvJU24drdEKwz93QiQEJt156O79hhefsR7Qk1JJoAX3ec
