This is an outrageous dereliction of duty on the part of the City Council leadership.
There is no greater responsibility for a local authority than keeping our young people safe, and it is clear that on Ann James’ and Abi Brown’s watch the council has failed to do that.
This shocking Ofsted report released today states that Children’s Social Care at Stoke-on-Trent City Council is Inadequate at every level.
It concluded that ‘Children are not being protected, and they experience serious and widespread delays in having their needs met across children’s services.’
The report identified that the City Council’s Children’s Social Care service had ‘widespread and serious failures which leave children at risk of serious harm.’
Our children are being put at risk of real and serious harm because of the these peoples’ actions. The failures highlighted in this report are shameful and cannot be allowed to continue.
