Some of you may remember me campaigning earlier in the year against CCG fines against our local hospital trust. You can read in the article below that because of significant financial pressures the trust intends to reduce its staff numbers by 288, equating to about £10 million in savings.
That £10 million savings and job cuts and recruitment freeze will have a direct impact on the quality of care and performance of our health care services. Our front-line NHS staff deserve our support not increased workloads. It’s astonishing that the CCG thought that fining the Trust wasn’t going to have such awful consequences.
The NHS, patients and staff deserve so much better.
