I have been contacted by several parents today regarding their children not only missing out on a place at their preferred school, but being offered places in schools several miles away.

I have written to the City Council to ask what they are doing to extend the secondary school offer in the area and how they plan to support pupils who have been placed in other areas; this must be addressed as a priority.
