Last week, Ginny and Sandra invited me to visit the foodbank at Grace Church in Hanley.

It was fantastic to see the work that they do to support those less fortunate, ranging from providing emergency food parcels to hot meals. I was also pleased to see that there was support provided by the Debt Advice Team from Saltbox.

However, I was saddened to hear that many of those who require emergency support are waiting for Universal Credit payments, having to wait at least five weeks to receive their first payment. I will continue to fight for this policy to be changed.
