Thank you to Labour Councillor Jane Ashworth for putting this motion forward at the last full meeting of Stoke-on-Trent City Council. I’m pleased that the council passed it unanimously despite some amendments.

It’s vital that all local authorities play their role in both recognising the climate emergency and take immediate and pertinent steps to address our own contributions to it.

We owe it to our children and future generations.
