It was inspiring to join over one hundred mothers protesting against the Conservative City Council’s cuts to the Community Breastfeeding Team this morning.

The team provides support to new breastfeeding mothers and the importance of it is shown in the 5200 signatures added to the petition – surpassing the 5000 signature threshold to get the issue debated at a full council meeting.

I hope the strength of support I witnessed today, combined with the consultation conducted by the parents, will ensure the council do the right thing and reverse their cuts.
